BODY WEIGHT OR DUMBBELL HIP HINGE

Understanding how to hinge at your hip is extremely important not only for the gym but for movements in general life!

.

Excessive lumbar flexion is widely recognized as a common mechanism of lower back injury.

.

AKA.

Rolling your spine forward as you bend over vs sticking your butt out! 

.

Most people  have developed poor movement patterns that utilize spine flexion over hip flexion!

.

This is a key movement to understand and also a key movement to keep you safe and to keep you creating better movement patterns in the gym and out of the gym!

.

Think about it like needing to learn how to bend forward with the hips, not the spine. That’s where the hip hinge progression comes in!
